10 Minute Tidy Tip 44: Pros and Cons of Charging Stations

by shannon on June 18, 2012

A charging station is an electronic docking station that hides cable clutter and gets you organized so that you can easily find your phone, iPod, camera, or headset. Charging stations come in a range of styles and price points depending on your decor. Just look up “charging station” online and you will find a huge selection. There are pros and cons to using a charging station.

The huge advantage of a charging station is that all of the electronics you use every day will all be charged in the same location. And rather than taking up an entire wall outlet or power strip, there is a plug for each dock in the station. All you really need to do is chose the one you like and use it. This is an easy habit to get into and it will save you more than 10 minutes every day if you always return your electronics to the dock while you are home.

The main disadvantage of a charging station is that if you are ever robbed while all of your electronics are parked in their docks, it will be so much easier to lose everything all at once. I recommend having your charging station out of common site from any main windows or doors.
